Goodbye, Madame President

To My Fellow Trial Lawyers:

At this point, the news of Kathy Byrne’s untimely passing has likely reached all in this organization. It came as a shock to all who knew her and had the pleasure of practicing with her, making it not only to the Chicago Law Bulletin, but also the pages of the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune. However, when sitting down to write my thoughts for this edition of Vested Interest, I could think of nothing else to write about than to say a final goodbye to the incredible Kathy Byrne. 

I once read a quote that we should strive to “live the kind of life that’s worthy of the memorial video.” I have come back to this quote many times throughout the past several years and was reminded again when the Kathy Byrne tribute e-mails came pouring in from throughout the state and organization. A different take on the quote, but Kathy Byrne lived the kind of life that was worthy of all the most amazing tribute emails and articles.
