A Legacy of Service
It was an evening devoted to recognizing important events, milestones, and people. At ITLA’s Annual Convention last June, one extraordinary staff member was honored for her many years of dedicated service and received a standing ovation. But she wasn’t in her seat to take in the moment. True to form, Linda Benedict was off tending to ITLA members’ needs.
For five decades, Linda has been the heart and soul of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. Joining ITLA in 1975 and becoming Assistant Executive Director in 1981, Linda has shaped the organization in ways too numerous to count. She is responsible for coordinating programs for ITLA events, managing countless behind-the-scenes details, and ensuring that everything runs seamlessly. But to reduce her role to a job description doesn’t capture her true impact.
