  - Members of our association help victims of wrongdoing achieve justice by securing and protecting the rights of those injured in their persons or civil rights. We help victims face down corporations, insurance companies, health care providers, and other entities or individuals threatening harm against other members of their community.

  - We defend against attacks on the U.S. Constitution’s 7th Amendment and Americans’ right to a trial by jury. It’s often only through our courts that citizens can get equal footing, particularly when taking on insurance companies or other powerful special interests. We promote fair, prompt and efficient administration of justice.

The Importance of being involved

By now all of you should have received your ISBA ballots for the 2022 annual election. You may vote for any office that falls within the geographical area of your ISBA address.

The contested offices are:
1. Third Vice President
2. Board of Governors – First Judicial District (Cook County)

Voting concludes April 29, 2022 at 4:30 pm.

The full participation of ITLA membership is of the upmost importance. ISBA leadership plays a critical role in our state’s civil justice system. If ITLA members choose not to participate in the process, the voices of our clients will not be heard. We also need our members to seek office in ISBA leadership positions and be active at the committee level. Fortunately, we have several ITLA leaders who are running in this year’s election.
